from. i have to admit, it's not easy following president biden. it's not always easy following what he was saying. >> hundreds of angry protesters gathered on connecticut avenue outside the correspondents center. some chanted genocide joe. some blocked traffic and briefly disrupting the entering of the party. some protesters managed to slip inside the dinner. these two from code pink faked a medical emergency and screamed when personnel tried to escort them out. this didn't disrupt those taking photos and selfies on the red carpet. president biden had a few jokes of his own. >> donald had a few tough days lately, you might call it stormy weather.

every state ballot this fall. mark meredith is live with the details. good afternoon, mark. >> robert f. kennedy is under attacks from democrats and republicans who believe his candidacy is becoming a headache for them this fall. this is the biggest wild card race. he gained ballot access in michigan, a battleground state this cycle. among voters overall. kennedy would earn 16% support compared to 37% for trump and president biden. trump is taking note of kennedy's poll numbers. trump posted online about kennedy saying a vote for v jr. is a wasted protest vote that could swing either way. it would swing against democrats if they knew the truth about him. democrats are also watching kennedy.

biden campaigned with high profile members of the kennedy family. since then, the campaign tried to fire back. the dnc is treating me like i'm president biden's big challenge. it's not me but four dollars milk, four dollars gas, and six dollars bread. also kids never owning their own home. this week he will focus heavily on efforts to get on a ballot in new york state. he's trying to get 45,000. we will hear patrolman candidate holding a rally out on long island. >> thank you very much. let's bring in the political panel energy regulatory commission candidate neil and former new york state senator david. gentleman, welcome. >> good to be with you. >> let's start with a sound bite from president biden last night at the white house correspondents dinner known as the

nerd prom. >> look, age is the only thing we have in common. my vice president actually endorses me. >> is that effective, neil? >> it's funny. the president is trying to get out ahead of these things. doing friendly interviews. i'm a howard stern fan and he did a nice interview with howard. he was sharp and good and managing the age questions. as the interview went on, you could tell his fatigue was setting in. howard carried him towards the end of the interview. he said in that interview he was willing to debate donald trump anywhere, any time. a 90 minute debate. if he can't maintain the stamina might be an issue. >> protesters were loud last night. police seemed to have it handled.
10:07 am
what about the political impact of those si since they are part of his base. >> talking about stamina, it's donald trump complaining about staying awake and sitting up straight in the courtroom. in terms of stamina i think donald trump has much to fear there. in terms of the protests, look joe biden has been crystal clear, he's doing what he can to bring peace to the middle east. he won't let the protesters wade him one way or the other. he's doing what is right for the country. you pose that to donald trump. he's been silent. a guy that talks about whatever is on his mind. he's said little about israel. the only thing he's saying is it wouldn't have happened if he were the president but no details. no concrete policy or how he would end the war.
10:08 am
>> neil, should president biden and campaign team be alarmed by the protests? >> absolutely. the manner they are going about it is inappropriate. there are good people on both sides approach to it. people are screaming death to america and death to israel. they are calling for the elimination of jews in america in 2024. it's absolutely horrific. there is no both sidisms to it. i don't know what kind of political calculation or triangulation his campaign is trying to make. he needs to be firm and condemn these really vulgar protests. >> let's show folks at home the polls if voting were held today. biden and trump tied at 37%. kennedy at 16%. how worried should both sides be? >> extremely, we have to make sure every vote the

coordinated extremely intensely. this is a neck and neck race. the polls go back and forth by a few points. voters are educated and the dnc doubled down. they won't take any chances. make sure people fully understand what rfk jr. is running on, what he stands for, and what he would be like as a president and what the costs are for rfk jr. would be a vote for donald trump. i know donald trump is changing his tune and getting fearful of rfk jr. which makes more sense. they are more alike -- rfk jr. and donald trump are more common in platform in terms of conspiracy theory, anti-vaxing and the list goes on. >> rfk jr. at 47%. trump at 45%, biden
10:10 am
at 39%. kamala harris at 39%. should the campaigns be alarmed by those numbers? >> no question. this is the election no one wants. this is the remax no re--rematch no one wants. this is why rfk jr. is pulling numbers. he's pulling from both camps. he's a kennedy. there is interest on the left and right. at the end of the day there is so much at stake. both sides will come home. you are starting to see republicans and conservatives across the spectrum coalesce around the nominee. they are starting to come home because they are seeing how the biden administration is handling things at the border, economy, and crime and coming home. the political left, as we get closer to november and realize
10:11 am
the possibility of a trump 2.0 is real, the left will come home as well. i think, for right now you see express dissasatisfaction with the two candidates. >> the key is the favorability is much higher among those who supported trump in 2020. it's 50% of those who supported trump in 2020 think favorably. 29% of those who voted against biden find those favorable. it's more of a problem for donald trump as we get closer to november. >> gentleman, sorry, we have to leave it there. >> thank you for having me. >> thank you. new hopes for a ceasefire in gaza as egypt steps up to broker a deal. stepping up ground offenses in rafa. they are calling for more hostages to be
